Resolution - Right-of-Way:
Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Deed Without Warranty, for the sale of a City-owned remnant lot to Tar Heel Holdings LLC, being described as the South Part of Lot 4, Block 8, City View Addition, Lubbock County, Texas, 1613 Vassar Street.
The City of Lubbock is in receipt of a request from Tar Heel Holdings LLC, the adjacent landowner to City-owned property, to purchase 900 square feet of a City-owned remnant lot located at 1613 Vassar Street between North Paris Avenue and North Avenue P. This triangular shaped vacant lot was deeded in Volume 681, Page 591, to the City of Lubbock in 1958. The Right-of-Way Department negotiated a mutually agreed upon sales price of $1.00 per square foot for a total amount of $900. The City of Lubbock’s ownership extends to 15 feet below the surface, and it does not include mineral rights. The land has been deemed not buildable or otherwise useful to the City of Lubbock for public use.
