Regular City Council Meeting
Resolution - Right-of-Way:
Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Street Use License/Groundwater Monitoring Well Permit with the Air Force Civil Engineering Center (AFCEC) to install and maintain two groundwater monitoring wells for collecting water samples.
This monitoring well permit will allow AFCEC and their contractor, Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Operations, and Management (AECOM), to install and maintain 2 groundwater monitoring wells for collecting water samples in the right-of-way, near the former Reese Air Force Base (AFB), west of the City of Lubbock. Well No. REEPMW053 will be located at the intersection of 34th Street and Research Boulevard, and Well No. REEPMW052 will be located at the intersection of Alcove Avenue and 20th Street.
The term of this Street Use License/Groundwater Monitoring Well Permit shall be for 5 years, and shall be automatically extended for successive 5-year terms, not to exceed 20 years. Upon completion of the testing, AFCEC, or its appointed contractor, has agreed to restore, at its cost and expense, the portion of the right-of-way utilized in this procedure, to a condition which is equal to its existing condition. Staff recommends waiving the fees for the monitoring wells.
