Resolution - Engineering:
Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Amendment No.1 to Contract 15208, with Freese and Nichols, Inc., for additional engineering services related to the Southeast Water Reclamation Plant Effluent Pump Station #2 Improvements Project.
The purpose of the Southeast Water Reclamation Plant (SEWRP) Effluent Pump Station #2 Improvements Project is to upgrade mission critical pumping and electrical components of the effluent pump station in order to increase the efficiency and overall reliability of the Wastewater Treatment Plant operation.
On June 23, 2020, the City Council awarded professional services Contract 15208 to Freese and Nichols, Inc., for providing preliminary design services for the project.
Amendment No.1 to this contract will amend the scope of work to include final design, development of contract documentation, and bid phase services for upgrading the electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and HVAC systems of the effluent pumping station.
Contract negotiations were conducted with Freese and Nichols, Inc., and fair and reasonable hourly rates were determined for a total amendment amount of not to exceed $350,297, with a 12-month time extension, to perform the additional services.
$500,000 is appropriated in Capital Improvement Project 92656, SEWRP Effluent Pump Station #2 Improvements, with $350,297 available for this purpose.
