Regular City Council Meeting
Resolution - Solid Waste:
Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Contract 15330, with Jarvis Metals Recycling, Inc., for the sale of scrap metals.
This contract is for the sale of scrap metals accumulated at the Solid Waste Landfill, the West Texas Regional Disposal facility, the Citizen Convenience Stations and Recycling Drop-off Centers, as well as other scrap metals generated by the operations of Lubbock Power & Light (LP&L), Water Utilities, Airport, Traffic, and other City departments.
In response to ITB 20-15330-RR, one bid was received. After reviewing the bid submittal, the Solid Waste staff recommends award to the sole bidder who met specifications, Jarvis Metals Recycling Inc. at 7825 Olive Ave, Lubbock, Texas, for the sale of scrap metals. The contract shall be for a term of 1 year with the option of four 1-year extensions.
The scrap metals will be sold at "Dealer Selling Prices" of the Houston market prices in the American Metals Market (AMM), on the date of sale. If prices are not listed for Houston, the National Dealer Market Prices through the AMM will be used.
The revenue generated from the sale of scrap metals will go into the General Fund for the City.
