Resolution - Public Health Services:
Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Amendment No. 1 to the Research Agreement, by and between the City of Lubbock and Texas Tech University, to provide consultation and guidance to the City of Lubbock Health Department, for the Community Coalition Partnership (CCP) and Prevention Resource Center (PRC) grant programs.
The City's Health Department was awarded two new grants, the CCP Grant and the PRC Grant from the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, to support substance use disorders prevention. The department proposes to contract with the Department of Community, Family and Addiction Sciences, a department of Texas Tech University; to help build
for the new programs.
The scope of work of the contract includes the support of 1 staff person certified in substance use prevention (Certified Prevention Specialist), 2 graduate research assistant, and 4 undergraduate
, to provide consultation and guidance to the CCP Grant program and the PRC Grant program..
Deliverables for the CCP include attendance and participation in local coalition meetings, meeting planning, member recruitment and strategic planning. Deliverables for the PRC include identification of key stakeholders, development of the regional needs assessment, strategic planning, and development of educational materials.
Amendment No.1 amends the contract period to 03/01/2020 through 08/31/2021, and increases the award amount by $86,296 to $175,878.
This amendment of $86,296 will be supported by the CCP and PRC Grants recently awarded to the City's Health Department.
