Resolution - Aviation:
Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a Land Lease Agreement, with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), for the Outer Marker site and facility on Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport property.
Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport has had a contract with the FAA for the past 20 years, for the Outer Marker site on Airport property. The existing agreement expires on September 30, 2020.
This contract will allow the FAA to establish and maintain pole lines for extending electric power and telecommunications lines to the premises. The FAA will have the right to grading, conditioning, installing drainage facilities, seeding the soil of the premises, and the removal of all obstructions from the premises that may constitute a hindrance to the establishment and maintenance of Government facilities.
This is a 0.412 acre tract of land out of Section 65, Block A, Lubbock County, Texas. The term of the Land Lease Agreement will commence on October 1, 2020, and continue through September 30, 2040. The Government shall pay no rent to the Airport. It is mutually agreed that the rights extended to the Government are obligations assumed by the Government in its establishment, operation, and maintenance of the facility.
There is no fiscal impact. The FAA shall pay no rent to the Airport.
