Public Hearing - Finance:
Hold a public hearing on the proposed Storm Water Drainage Charges for the City of Lubbock.
Section 552.045 of the Texas Local Government Code requires that a public hearing be held prior to the Storm Water rates being adopted by the City Council. The public hearing is to discuss the proposed decrease in the rates for the Storm Water utility and to hear public comment on the proposed rates.
The proposed residential rates are as follows:
Tier 1: Impervious area less than or equal to 2,780 square feet $7.30 per month
Tier 2: Impervious area greater than 2,780 square feet and $11.18 per month
less than or equal to 3,680 square feet
Tier 3: Impervious area greater than 3,680 square feet and $14.14 per month
less than or equal to 4,770 square feet
Tier 4: Impervious area greater than 4,770 square feet $21.22 per month
The proposed non-residential rates are as follows:
$21.22 per Equivalent Residential Unit (ERU) per month, to be billed in whole units. This will be charged on an impervious area basis up to a maximum of 150,000 square feet of impervious area per property.
Notice of the public hearing was published in the legal notices section of the Lubbock Avalanche Journal on three occasions: Thursday, August 8, 2019; Thursday, August 15, 2019; and Thursday, August 22, 2019.
The public hearing has no fiscal impact.
